Lakewood Center is proud to be a community partner. We strive to meet community challenges through a combination of employee volunteerism, financial support, in-kind donations and partnerships with non-profit organizations which have missions consistent with our vision and values.

School Cents
Lakewood Center, Los Cerritos Center and Stonewood Center have combined their efforts with this exciting program.
This year's School Cents program runs from September 15, 2007 - May 15, 2008. Present your receipts at Guest Services to help your school earn a share of $50,000 during the school year!

School Cents is a fun and easy way for your school to earn gift cards, which can be used to purchase computers, software, student incentives, audio/visual equipment, books and other student-use items.

Your school earns five (5) points for each dollar spent at any department store, specialty store, restaurant, cart, fast food eatery, movie theatre or kiosk.

Lakewood Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels of Lakewood is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to providing nourishing food to homebound residents living in Lakewood, California and portions of Long Beach and Hawaiian Gardens. Many clients are homebound due to illness, age or disability; and the volunteer delivering meals is often the only friendly, caring face they see all day. If a client is ill or hurt, or if the volunteer is unable to get a response at the door, help is immediately called.

Lakewood Center Management Team is proud to volunteer for Lakewood Meals on Wheels on a monthly basis.

Sheriff's Community Safety Center
The Sheriff Community Safety Center is located in the Target wing of Lakewood Center & it has many things to offer the residents of Lakewood. There are special services conveniently available at the Safety Center such as:

-Personal Safety Classes for kids and adults.
-Community Information
-Bicycle Licensing
-Neighborhood Watch
-Bicycle Training
-and much more!

Come visit the Safety Center and speak to their staff with any questions. Also, the safety center has a community room that is available for use for groups and meetings. The use of the room is by scheduled appointment only and the cost is free.

Contribution Requests

Each year, Lakewood Center will contribute a preset amount of funds in the form of Gift Cards, merchandise, and use of property to a diverse group of organizations. Hundreds of requests are anticipated each year. Donation recipients may include civil organizations' education programs, food banks, foundations, hospitals and health-care organizations, youth programs, performing arts and museums, and many more. Each request is reviewed carefully, however, not all requests can be granted.
